History of Northern Rail Services
Railroad construction in New England has always been a passion of Michael D’Amours. Initially, he served his country in the Navy for 6 years. Subsequently, Mike worked for 20 years at Conrail as a track inspector and foreman.
Conrail is a terminal and switching service provider for its owners. These owners are Consolidated Rail Corporation (CSX) Transportation and Norfolk Southern (NS).. Specifically, Conrail provides safe and efficient rail service for many local rail freight customers. These services extend throughout New England and as far as Detroit, New Jersey, and Philadelphia.
Furthermore, customers located along Conrail’s lines in these shared asset areas gain access to the nation’s rail network. They connect through either NS or CSX. Ultimately, Conrail’s size and educational opportunities unlocked the door for Mike. Because of this experience, he could pursue his dream of owning and operating a railway servicing company.
Establishing Northern Rail Services
In 1995, Northern Rail Services, Inc. became a reality. Since then, the company has grown organically. Mike’s professional commitment to his mission, vision, and core values has built a strong reputation throughout New England. For instance, he services the rail needs of private and public industries. NRS ensures safe, efficient rail systems. Additionally, we provide cost-effective, strategic repairs. These repairs keep railway lines operating even when others cannot.
